Melissa's interview with Marilyn about Open Night.
On
the 9th of August Tawa intermediate had its Open night, to show
students-to-be what a great school it is! Marilyn was a Unity Pasefika
performer on the night, and she is going to tell us how she thought it
went.
“Umm...it went really well, and I thought that the Unity Pasefika was awesome!”
Did many people turn up and do you think they enjoyed it?
“Yeah, a lot of people turned up and they applauded really loudly to all the groups that went on stage”
What do you think was the best performance?
“Unity Pasefika! Duh!! ‘Cause we were awesome!”
Were there any muck ups in open night?
“We were perfect!! The whole of Open Night ran smoothly!”
What was your favourite part?
“Um..when
the band was performing, Summer and Eden were awesome at singing and
the guitarists and pianists were really good at playing their
instruments!”
Do you think we should change anything next year?
“Um.. To try and do something that they didn’t do on Matariki night.”
Ok, thanks Marilyn, it sounds like so much fun!

Room 8's Rakau Stick Performance
Today at about around 2:00 we had Ms Tito come and video us doing our Rakau sticks for our Arohatia Te Reo competition. Me (Camoron) and Marilyn were the AWESOME leaders and started everything off. First I did a spech before we all started and then I sat down amd said "Rakau" and we all got prepared for Marilyn to start us off. Then we all sang "E Papa Waiari" and did all our different tricks that we practised with each other and had loads of fun!!!
